The morning the woke up in Christchurch the bus dropped us off in the city center we walked around and explored Christchurch for a little bit and then headed back on the bus for our next destination .. Franz Josef!

On our way to franz we stopped off to take pictures of a beautiful landscape where one of the lord of the rings battle scenes took place .. I don't remember which one but the tour guide (Sarah told us about it)

After that we stopped for lunch (homemade pies something like chicken potpie but with many different flavors and sold like bread at a french bakery) and saw the kea (a native NZ bird)

The last stop for that day was the Jade factory where we were able to see some punamu (nephrite or jade) that the local maori people would use for weapons and jewelery. We finally made it to Franz Josef that night and had a nice soak in some heated glacier water then dinner :)
